    Motorola Project Ara
Motorola is developing a free, open hardware platform for creating highly modular smartphones. The design for Project Ara consists of what we call an endoskeleton (endo) and modules.  The endo is the structural frame that holds all the modules in place. A module can be anything, from a new application processor to a new display or keyboard, an extra battery, a pulse oximeter--or something not yet thought of!  So you can upgrade your processor, battery, screen, all just by plopping modular components onto an "endoskeleton" base. It' still a working prototype.

    The Chewbacca Fur Sofa
This is a Chewbacca pelt looking sofa from Sentient of Brooklyn, New York. It's not actually wookie fur though, it's Icelandic Lamb.
"An original design using long wool Icelandic sheepskin together with reclaimed American oak boards. If they could speak what stories would these boards tell? The icelandic sheepskin wool is chaotic, wild, soft and long measuring 6” - 8”. The hair falls all directions resulting in a array of warm beige, brown and golden colors. "

    Pet   /   Comments
Interaction designer Chris Woebken dressed a dog up like a cat, complete with eye holes punched in a custom-printed mask. Using nothing more than a color inkjet printer, some light paper card stock, and a pair of scissors, Woebken pieced together the cat suit. The pattern itself came from the incredible array of 3D models hosted on a Japanese site called Raspera—this bald uakari monkey certainly has some potential for Halloween nightmares—using the program Pepakura Designer to turn his 3D model into a workable paper-craft pattern.

The ready-to-ride prototype features an electric drive and is made almost entirely of modern BASF plastics. only the brake, axles and motor are still made of metal. 24 different polymer applications, such as bearingless all-plastic pedals made of 'ultrason' and puncture-proof tires made of 'infinergy' — a closed cell expanded thermoplastic polyurethane — are featured in the construction of the 'concept 1865'.
