Oaxis inkCase i6 Puts an eReader Screen On The Back Of Your iPhone
    Gear | Apple
Oaxis’ inkCase i6 has an 800 x 480 4.3″ anti-glare eInk display on the back of the case that communicates with your mobile via Bluetooth. This way you can display any number of things while using no power from your device, things like the weather, wallpapers, sports score tracking, etc. And since the eInk only uses power when being updated, the integrated 300mAh of battery, small as it seems, should be enough to last for several days without needing a charge. There’s no word on price or availability. Oaxis says the i6 will be available in spring, but we don’t know about the Android version.

    3D-Printed Edible Morsel

    3DPrinted Edible Morsel
    Gear | Projects
Edible Growth is an ongoing project by Eindhoven-based food designer Chloé Rutzerveld that has created a 3D-printed edible morsel using a combination of technical and natural processes. The morsel is grown inside a 3D-printed edible structure, with plants and fungi sprouting out after about five days. Once printed, it takes a few days for the seeds and mushrooms to germinate after which they start to poke out of the small holes on top. All that’s left to do is pop it in your mouth. Rutzerveld’s design is currently just a concept and would involve several years of research, namely around 3d printing technology and issues of food safety.

    Submarine-Shaped Butter Spreader

    SubmarineShaped Butter Spreader
    Gear | Design
The spreader is designed to look like the sail of a submarine—aka the raised section on top—but instead of sailors, you fill it with a small square of butter and then rub it back and forth across the top of your corn. There's also an extra compartment on top for salt. cool design!
