Siew Ming Cheng s Spike Away vest
Siew Ming Cheng created a vest covered in spikes called Spike Away, a vest covered in spikes that are normally used to keep birds and cats away from plants. In Singapore, where Ms. Cheng lives, trains can get really crowded. People jostle, push and get too close. Ms. Cheng found in a hardware store a material used to keep birds and cats away from plants. She shaped it into a vest so that she can keep human pests away.

This house really has everything one would need, including open shower space, a patio and even a suspended bed. I like the bed. A 300 lb weight keeps the bed down.

From Stephanie Rosenbloom's New York Times review.
Pengallan's Genius Gloves were introduced last year and are hand made in Italy of kid leather and lined with cashmere.
The thumb and index fingers on both hands flip back so that you can use a touch screen device.
Sure, there are iPhone and smart-touch gloves that allow you to operate your phone or tablet without taking them off.
But as Jason Tsou, the founder of Pengallan, likes to point out, his leather gloves can be used with the new iPhone 5's Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Volkswagen s New App Creates Music Based On Your Driving

The app generates music in real-time based on how you already drive, so your habits behind the wheel affect what's being played on your sound system. Play the road generates music via a phone app that's connected to the GTI's onboard computer, reading the driver's location and movements to compose music live.
"The innovative app reads how and where you drive, translating it into music live. The app gets speed and RPM data from the GTI’s on-board computer. The steering acceleration and location data is calculated from a combination of the accelerometer, gyroscope and GPS receiver present in the iPhone. All of the data collected is filtered and smoothed before use.
The application makes use of the musical programming language PD (Pure Data) to generate the music and effects live. So you create unique music with your drive in real time. Driving Music reinvented
