Today Google unveiled its new Chrome OS laptop, the Google Chromebook Pixel. It is designed to compete with Apple's Retina MacBooks, which features a 12.85 inch high-density 2560×1700 screen (that’s 4.3 million pixels) with a 3:2 aspect ratio, an Intel Core i5 processor, 32 or 64GB of onboard memory, 1TB of Google Drive cloud storage, HD Webcam, HD Graphics 4000 (Integrated) and Machined aluminum body. The WiFi version ($1,299 U.S. and £1,049 U.K.) will start shipping next week and the LTE version ($1,449) will ship in the U.S. in April.

Human rights organization Society for Community Organization recently commissioned a series of photographs showing what a number of unacceptable living spaces look like when viewed from directly overhead. "SoCO’s wide-angle photographs capture how cramped these spaces really are by showing everything within them in a single frame. The images were likely captured by simply fixing a camera with a wide-angle lens to the ceiling, and then triggering a shot remotely (the photographer cannot be seen in the image)."
