A cosmonaut floats away from the International space station, spinning out of control as the camera follows it, orbiting planet Earth for seven months before plunging into the atmosphere, burning and disintegrating. A terrifying scene that looks like the movie Gravity, but the video above is real—except no human was inside that suit.
"The concept behind SuitSat-1 is quite simple, put some simple electronics (radio communications system, telemetry) into a Russian Orlan spacesuit, then throw it out of the airlock.
According to Frank Bauer of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, "SuitSat is a Russian brainstorm, some of our Russian partners in the ISS program … had an idea: Maybe we can turn old spacesuits into useful satellites." Aside from broadcasting voice messages from students around the world, and some telemetry data, SuitSat-1 also looked really eerie

Jason Barnes had wanted to be a professional drummer since he was a teenager. But when he lost his arm in a freak accident he thought his dream was over. Gil Weinberg designed a prosthetic for Barnes that lets him continue to play the drums as well as he could with two arms—and maybe even better than before. Because in addition to a small robot arm that lets Barnes accurately control a drumstick using the muscles in his upper arm, the prosthetic includes a second drumstick that plays along autonomously. It uses a microphone and accelerometer to detect Barnes' rhythm, and then automatically starts drumming along with a complementary rhythm of its own.
The video is Jason Barnes demonstrating his new robotic drumming prosthesis, developed by GTCMT's Robotic Musicianship Group.

Gender Swap is an experiment that users can feel themselves like if they were in a different body. Amazing!
"In order to create the brain ilusion we use the immersive Head Mounted Display Oculus Rift, and first-person cameras. To create this perception, both users have to synchronize their movements. If one does not correspond to the movement of the other, the embodiment experience does not work. It means that both users have to constantly agree on every movement they make. Through out this experiment, we aim to investigate issues like Gender Identity, Queer Theory, feminist technoscience, Intimacy and Mutual Respect. "

2 Men Are Living in This Spinning House for 10
    Gear  |  Projects

Two men are spending 10 days living in a home with a difference: it’s a 25-foot wooden wheel. It is an art installation and performance piece by Ward Shelley and Alex Schweder. The two collaborate in a medium that they call "performance architecture."
"This new work, In Orbit, continues in this vein with the wheel-shaped house. All its furniture and accommodations are fixed along its circumference. To bring the users the things they require during the day, they must walk in tandem to rotate the giant wheel. The artists will live in the structure 24/7 from February 28 through March 9, 2014. From that date until April 5, 2014, the end of the exhibition, the structure will remain on view in the exhibition space as an installation"

Stunning photos of abnormal frogs in the series Reliquaries from Brandon Ballengee. More images after more.
"These reliquaries are created by chemically “clearing and staining” terminally deformed frogs found in nature. This process obscures direct representation- as I do not want to exhibit large images of “monsters”, which would be frightening and be exploitative to the organisms. This process is followed by high-resolution scanner photography of each specimen to create individual portraits."
