This Diode Watch($380) by Roger Tallon in 1975. I like this watch. Look cute! LIP watches have been around for over 150 years but were unavailable in the United States until very recently. The company has reintroduced some of their most important models from a modern collection that was first unveiled 35 years ago. In the 1960s and 1970s, LIP enlisted a handful of creative architects and designers to design contemporary watches. Among them was the prolific Roger Tallon, who designed everything from high-speed French TGV trains to the 1964 Helicoid Staircase.

The OPUS 8 Mechnial Didital Wach by Harry Winston Rare Timepieces. Inspired by early electronic LED watches of the 1970s(like we have reported the D/A Clock ). Fr¨¦d¨¦ric Garinaud created the Opus 8 with a new twist on mechanical-digital watches. Time is shown by pulling the side-lever down which in turn activates mechanical pixels to rise up from the digitally segmented dial displaying the hour of the day, Am/Pm, and indication of minutes by rising five minute markers located in a vertical scale next to the primary display. It only be made 50 pieces. The Opus program was launched by Harry Winston in 2001, partnering with independent watchmakers, each year the Opus program develops rare timepieces never before seen or imagined within the industry.
Each EP Martin Sahara chronograph(about $1,000) claims a different inspiration: a WWII bombing raid, the USSR's pioneering use of titanium, the world's premier Ducati dealership, and...some nut who ran across the Sahara to support H20 Africa, which provides that continent clean water (every drop of which was guzzled by some nut who ran across the Sahara).
