Bright Blind

Bright Blind made of electroluminescent (EL) sheets, Makoto Hirahara's Bright Blind simulates a window where none exists. It designed by Mongoose. In all other respects, the artificial blind functions in exactly the same way as a regular blind - ie turning the plastic stick controls the brightness. Unfortunately since the original version was actually created by hand, if you want your own you better have a lot of patience and probably a lot of money.

The CitizenM Mobile Hotel will be open in the Schiphol Amsterdam airport early 2008. This hotel's room is so cute, just 14m2 only, but it is luxury. The room designed by the interior design studio Concrete. They made the room looks modern and stylish in less space.

R3 Ukishima

The R3 Ukishima is Tokyo-based architect Klein Dytham 's project: a commercial building in Naha, capital of Okinawa. The response became the key element of the building: a 25m long, 5m high perforated concrete block screen - ubiquitous to Okinawa - which encloses a balcony access to the 2nd floor while screening off the convenience store, electriclty and telephone wires running along the street.

illy Cafe in Shipping Container

American artist-architect Adam Kalkin has transformed standard shipping containers into living quarters. His Quick House can be used for different circumstances, from disaster-relief housing to luxury dwellings and for promotional purposes. Italian espresso company Illy has used the Quick House at the 52nd Venice Biennale to provide visitors a space to relax and to enjoy their complimentary espresso.

Barcelona's new Camp Nou by Foster + Partners

FC Barcelona have unveiled the design of their new stadium by Foster + Partners. Foster will remodel the famous Camp Nou stadium, increasing capacity by 10,000. The new Camp Nou will feature a glittering facade studded with colored polycarbonate and glass panels, creating a scaly skin of sorts, serving to shade, shelter, provide natural ventilation, and make a strong visual statement. The facade will transform from day to night and appear unique on match days as opposed to non-match days.
