The day is coming when the U.S. Navy will be able to use its electromagnetic launch system to hurtle all manner of aircraft into the skies, but for now we’re content to watch this rather impressive demonstration of its awesome power. But in this case the Navy crew aboard the U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford were just showing off their sweet new EMALS (Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System), demonstrating how easy it is for the EMALS to launch a 4 ton sled.  The Navy was finally able to initiate the launch of two dead loads. The first weighed 15,000 pounds and traveled at 161 mph (260 km/h), while the second weighed 8,000 pounds and traveled at 207 mph (333 km/h).

Hillary Rae and friends went diving in a shark cage off the coast of South Africa. They encountered a 13-foot great white shark. While shark cage diving, our cage was attacked by an 11.5 foot Great White shark. The round buoy attached to the side of the cage was bent in half. Some of the lining of the outside blue barrier bar was bitten through as well. It was quite the up close and personal experience!

The Explorer by Bounce Imaging is a tactical throwable camera ball that captures panoramic images. It looks like a rubber softball, but has six recesses each housing a camera lens with a ring of LED lights. Once the ball is thrown, the cameras each start taking shots. The device then pieces together the imagery to produce 360 degree imagery at a rate of one frame per second, then uses a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot to transmit the feed to a nearby iOS or Android device. The device can run for 30 minutes and uses replaceable batteries. Explorer comes in two versions. The standard version, at $1,495, uses lights totalling 240 watts with the idea being to temporarily visually stun any suspected offenders. A tactical edition, at $2,495, has the option to use near infra-red lights in stealthier missions to minimize the chances of anyone inside a building being alerted by the ball.

This is a video of the Starlight amusement park ride built by ABC rides. It raises up to over 70 feet then begins spinning around on three axes to allow riders to experience an anti-gravity environment. Cool, but the only anti-gravity environment I want to experience is OUTSIDE EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE.
