Jeff Altman is a film colorist from Chicago. These scences were shot by his grandparents in 1958.  This footage features only his grandfather; both behind and in front of the camera. He says:
"It was edited by hand some 50 years ago by my grandfather shortly after shooting it. Judging by the 3 minute length, I would say its safe to assume you're seeing all the footage he shot. 100 foot rolls of 16mm are of about 3 minutes in length. The order of the shots were probably changed, as well as removal of flash frames and other junk. "

Amazing sci-fi short film done for $300

This special F/X-laden five-minute robot invasion flick is about giant robots "coming to destroy my small city.
By Fede Alvarez. The director Fede says:
"It took US$300 to shoot the live action, and then maybe a year to complete the 90 vfx shots (during very interrupted periods...) I used Premiere, After, Photoshop, 3dMax, Boujou, Glu3d, and FumeFx. The modeling, mapping and rigging of the Robots, fighters and planes was made by Mauro Rondan.

"This pixilation (stop-motion animation using real people) was made for Screen South as part of the UK Film Council's Digital Shorts scheme. As much as possible, it was made 'in camera' without digital superimposure, using thousands of printed materials.
The whole film took about a year: roughly three months each for development, prep, shoot and post - although due to the nature of the film, part of the post bled into the shoot...
I used a Canon Eos 350D Digital SLR to shoot, and took roughly 26,000 photos overall.
