The WaveJet is a 'Personal Water Propulsion' engine which can be built into surfboards, kayaks or anything else.
The engine is powered by li-ion batteries and can produce 20 pounds of thrust for up to half an hour, after which you'll have to plug it in to recharge. The idea of an electric surfboard... is that you can catch faster-moving waves without being towed"

Swiss "Jetman" Yves Rossy completed an eight-minute flight along the Grand Canyon on Saturday, one day later than planned and away from the media spotlight.
Leaping from a helicopter about 8,000 feet above the canyon floor, Rossy picked up speed and fired up his jet-wing, which he steers using his body as a kind of rudder/aileron. During the eight minute flight, he startled onlookers by passing over the rim only 200 feet above their heads, hitting speed of up to 190 miles per hour. During the demonstration Rossy hit speeds of 190 miles per hour before powering down his engines and parachuting safely to the canyon floor.

This is called horse boarding. But horse boarding is also a sport where participants are towed behind a horse at 35mph on an off-road skateboard. Professional stuntman Daniel Fowler-Prime, 31, invented the sport five years ago after he strung a rope between his off-road 'mountain board' and a horse. Now he has developed the daredevil stunt into a fully fledged sport and is looking forward to hosting the UK's first ever horse boarding championships this summer.

From Tim Crothers on New York Times. "Last spring, Indie Cowie performed her freestyle soccer routine for 76,000 fans during halftime at a Chelsea-Manchester United match in Manchester.... This 16-year-old does things that no other girl on the planet can do.
Indi Armstrong Cowie learned to walk chasing a soccer ball. At 10 she played on a coed team and once scored all seven goals in a 7-6 win. By that time, Cowie could juggle the ball 2,000 times without stopping.
Her most remarkable talent, and the one that has garnered her the most fame, is freestyle. "Indi is by far the most advanced female freestyler in the world that I’ve seen," says Dan Magness, who holds several Guinness world records in the sport. "Her videos include tricks no other girls are doing. My daughter watches them and wants to be like Indi."
She practices for at least 90 minutes a day and wears through a pair of specialized freestyling sneakers every month. The family garage is her laboratory."

The Fiik skateboard has an electric motor that can take you up to 22 miles, three speeds settings, top speed around 23-mph. It has an optional lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery giving you a range of around 30 km (22 miles) or 1.5 hours of runtime. And the FiiK boards have an ABS braking system to allow the rider to slow down without the wheels locking and potentially throwing the rider off.

The Skizee is basically a motorized tread that you hold onto and use to propel you over flat terrain. No longer is ski propulsion the exclusive domain of gravity; you get motor-powered skiing. Powered by a 10.5-hp engine with the handle-mounted electric start and tear those flats as if they're pointed 45 degrees. It's like a personal, mini-snowmobile, watch the video of this thing in action. The Skizee will set you back $2,500, a set of skis are not included.

Steve Wienecke, a former semi-pro football player and cage fighter, who has designed and built the Knokkers. It looks like the pool table.  But instead of billiard balls it uses bowling balls. And the table is scaled up 4X its original size, allowing, and requiring, players to stand on it. The first  playable version was built in his backyard in Fredericktown, Missouri using loads of railway ties, gravel and of course concrete. The game is played pretty much exactly like standard 8-ball pool, the only real difference is that before your shot you’re allowed to pick up and move the cue ball, though you can’t move your feet once you’ve touched it.
