Alienware's Hefty New Light-Up Laptops Are Available Right Now

Alienware reveals new line of laptops at E3. The new Alienware laptops have a custom lighting system for the keyboard, top panel, bottom panel, and touchpad, and can all be adjusted with the new Alienware Command Center software. They can even support lighting profiles for when you are playing a specific game.  All new laptops have support for Intel's fourth generation Core processors inside, up to i7 chips, and NVIDIA's GeForce 700 series of GPUs. The Alienware 14, with its 14-inch display can have up to three storage drives, while the Alienware 17 and 18 can support up to four storage drives. The Alienware 18 also has the option for SLI dual NVIDIA GeForce 700 series GPUs and has a full HD screen with PLS support, which allows for viewing the screen even at a wide angle. The Alienware 14 has a starting price of $1,198, with the Alienware 17 priced starting at $1,499. The Alienware 18 is priced starting at $2,099.

ASUS TAICHI dual-screen ultrabook

ASUS announces a dual-screen ultrabook called the Taichi at Computex 2012 in Taipai. It has a multi-touch screen on the outer face of the lid. They said: "The ASUS Transformer Book is the world’s first convertible ultrabook — allowing users to instantly switch between a ultrabook and a tablet by simply detaching the screen"
Is the Taichi a notebook or tablet? It's both. Both of its displays are 1920x1080 resolution, there's two cameras, two USB 3.0 port, a mini VGA, mini HDMI and DisplayPort ports, and NFC — all powered by an Intel Core i7 processor (Ivy Bridge), 4GB of RAM, and SSD storage. It'll ship in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch models (just like Apple does with the MacBook Air). ASUS says that its TAICHI ultrabook/tablet will come in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch.
There's also a nifty "mirroring" feature that'll enables both displays at the same time - perfect for presentations.

Lenovo's new ThinkPad X1 sports an ultralight carbon fiber body! Carbon fiber body Cool! The X1 Carbon is a 14 inch laptop weighing-in less than 3 pounds and measuring 0.71 inches think. It has a 1600×900 screen, a spill resistant a backlit keyboard, a 720p front facing webcam, embedded 3G, and RapidCharge (charging the battery to 80% in as short as 30 minutes). Panasonic has announced a new mini notebook, called Let’snote J9. It is only 990g. The Let’snote J9 has a 10.1-inch screen(1,366×768), runs Windows 7 Home Premium, and features include a Core i5-460M (2.53GHz) CPU and a modular 128GB SSD on board. Panasonic plans to start selling the Let’snote J9 in Japan on October 15 for $2,140, including the nice black bag you see on the pictures above.
