Michael Arrington's CrunchPad design is going to get real(the image is the near-final industrial design). CrunchPad Prototype is a browser device, it has a Linux based system and a Webkit based browser inside. It will boot directly into the browser. It features a screen now flush with the case and overall thickness to about 18 mm, Michael say it will be at a special press and user event in July in Silicon Valley. Do you like it?

"Hi. I modeled a monobike some weeks ago as part of my Masters project at Bournemouth University. The course finished but i decided to spend some time to improve it and compose it on top of a photo.
Meanwhile i thought it would be nice idea to post it.
The model started in SolidWorks (engineering application) and then i added some details inside rhino. The bike was done with NURBS in 6 days. The real challenge was getting the nurbs into XSI. At the end i just convert it into a mesh obj. Details like bolds and nuts and rendering was done in XSI 7 using mentalray.
My main concern was to model a monobike that would use realistic or almost realistic parts and have something from WWII military bikes. "

"Immaculate is a neurological prosthetic, connected to the users central nervous system. The exterior of the prosthetic is textile clad in Corian plates. The Corian allows embedded technology to be seamlessly integrated, and in union with the textile gives the prosthetic a clear graphical identity. Each joint is a globe joint, allowing a larger freedom of movement than a normal human arm."

"ThisWay" bike concept by designer Torkel Dohmers, really Cool! It is built of flax fiber and carbon fiber and includes a solar rooftop panel for assisted recumbent cycling. It has built-in LED lights front and rear(powered by its rooftop solar panel), and also a "luggage connector" at the rear that you can plug-in your luggage(briefcase, helmet box or rack for shopping bags).
"A comfortable pedal powered bicycle with weather protection. Emphasis is on automotive qualities in the design, to attract non-cyclists who currently rely on cars and motorcycles. Another selling point to attract more potential cyclists (particularly here in Europe) is weather protection - ThisWay has a roof.
Built from composite materials (carbon or flax fibre) and some hydro-formed aluminium, this vehicle is very lightweight (approximately 11-12kg). It has built-in LED lights front and rear, powered by a rechargeable battery obtaining its power from roof mounted solar cells. For minimum maintenance ThisWay's built-in belt drive is well protected and all cables are hidden within the frame.
The car-like ergonomics offer a riding position lower than a traditional bike to keep a low centre of gravity and optimal aerodynamics.
The design has simple controls for ease of use; a single hand brake lever and hub gears type Torpedo Duomatic providing Low and Hi gear.
The rear of the frame has a "luggage connector", where the user can plug-in his/her luggage (e.g. briefcase, helmet box or rack for shopping bags). The design also benefits from flexibility and comfort for riders of different sizes; the crank set and seat is adjustable in length and height. A "hybrid" version (pedal power/electric motor) is possible and additional battery pack plugged-in into the luggage connector will extend the range further.
Although this design is more expensive to manufacture compared to its traditional rivals, it is still just a fraction of the price of a car and virtually zero in running costs..." Click 2 enlarge!

Victory Motorcycle CORE Concept Bike

Victory Motorcycle's new CORE concept bike, unveiled it at New York City IMS show last week. This concept features in cast aluminum and paired it with a 1,731cc engine in a bike that weighs only 469 pounds. Other features include aluminum alloy frame, carbon fiber fender, 3.2-gallon tank.
According to the Victory press release at the motorcycle usa, the "design team felt the name CORE perfectly reflects the essence of this concept motorcycle. It is, in fact, the raw 'core' or center of a motorcycle. There is no traditional bodywork; the motorcycle is effectively turned inside-out with its architecture completely exposed. It also accentuates the innovative frame design and the process that is used to make the cast aluminum frame: the molten aluminum is poured into a sand core, which is removed when the casting process is complete."
