It debut at the LA Auto Show, Audi unveils their fastest production vehicle, the 2015 R8 Competition. Powered by  5.2-liter V10 that will deliver 570 horsepower, from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph.
Orders for the R8 Competition begin in November, and deliveries should start in early 2015.
"Further enhancing the unmistakable Audi R8 competition design are striking matte carbon exterior elements consisting of a fixed rear spoiler, engine bay, mirror housings, flics, side blades, front spoiler and rear diffusor. The combination of the carbon elements lower the weight of the R8 competition and also provide greater downforce. Gloss black wheels with 305 cross-section rear tires and ceramic brakes with anodized red brake calipers provide a stunning contrast to the matte carbon fiber elements. Inside, drivers will find a matte carbon fiber treatment including the center console and illuminated "R8 competition" door sill inlays."

The Quant E-Sportlimousine is powered by salt water. Powered by a salt water nanoFLOWcell system. It’s a 912-horsepower electric car. The heart of the car utilizes a three-tank system that stores two types of liquid electrolytes — one positively charged, the other negatively. The liquids are circulated through the center tank; a battery-like cell with a membrane separating it into two halves. An electrical charge is generated from that membrane as the two liquids swirl on either side of it. The system generates enough power to propel the car reach a top speed of over 218 miles per hour and accelerate to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, and the range is said to be between about 250 to 370 miles between charges.

Mini Superleggera Vision

Array
Car  |  SportsCars

BMW has unveiled a new Mini concept at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2014, in Lake Como, Italy, the Mini Superleggera Vision. Designed as a hybrid of classic British shapes, modern engineering and traditional Italian design and construction, the car was built by one of Italy's oldest bespoke car manufacturers and was mostly manufactured by hand.
"The MINI SuperleggeraTM Vision elegantly perpetuates what the Classic Mini started 55 years ago: reduction to the essentials. Its energetic, minimalistic design embodies the dynamic essence of an automobile. At the same time it creates unique emotional beauty in combining the past and future of the automotive industry, i.e. traditional coachwork craftsmanship and modern design styling. It was a pleasure for me to design a concept like this.” says Anders Warming, Head of MINI Design.
The perfectly balanced proportions indicate at first glance what the electrically powered MINI Superleggera™ Vision has to offer in terms of a driving experience: the stretched bonnet, long wheelbase and cool, short overhangs convey pure driving fun. As in every MINI, the wheels are set widely on the body, promising a high degree of agility. The passenger cell is slightly set back, further underscoring the car’s dynamic impression. The overall effect of the MINI Superleggera™ Vision is sporty, elegant and dynamic."
