Motors has teamed up with Segway to develop a series of decidedly uncool-looking Electric Networked Vehicles, EN-V, all based on the Segway's balanced platform with a carbon-fiber shell. They have a range of 25 miles and a top speed of 25 mph, They’ll use GPS, distance-sensing technology and vehicle-to-vehicle communications to ease congestion and reduce the risk of accidents. The EN-Vs are just concepts. The concept designed for Shanghai traffic, and the vehicles will be shown off at Shanghai's World Expo in May.
The all-electric Taurus Concept designed by Erik Lanuza. The Taurus Concept is a compact, urban-targeted, open-top, saddle-ridden vehicle balancing on two wheels. It's basically a more stylish Segway with a saddle. When driven, by leaning forward and backward the rider can control the speed and change the direction by steering wheel.
Porsche just released a video showing the new 918 Spyder concept, its new 918 Spyder is a mid-engined sports car with plug-in hybrid, powered by both a 500-horsepower V8 and a pair of electric motors (on the front and rear axle) producing an additional 218 hp or 160kW. It can reach 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, a top-end speed of 198 mph. The best past about it is that Porsche says it can also achieve 78 miles per gallon and emit just 70 grams of CO2 per kilometer
Honda 3R-C is a fully single-seat three-wheeler powered by a lithium ion battery, created by Honda's Milan studio. It will debut at Geneva International Motor Show 2010. The 3R-C has a clear canopy that covers the driver's seat while it is parked and not in use. When 3R-C vehicle is in motion, the canopy becomes an enveloping wind-shield that provides the pilot, who sits low in the vehicle, with significant protection from the bodywork and doors. The high sides of the safety shell seat give greater safety to the occupant, reducing the threat from side impacts and improving weather protection. In front of the driver is a lockable boot area, which gives significant secure storage for luggage or other items. The 3R-C's designers created a flexible cover that surrounds the upper torso to reduce exposure to bad weather and improving comfort.
The EB-48S Concept designed by Emil Badal, featuing a mide engined V6 Supercharged 4.8L, LED lighting... It’s another breed of EB brand, a mid engined V6 Supercharged 4.8L. The whole lighting system in this car is based on hi-bright LEDs with Neon back lights in the front. The tail-lights in EB-48S have 3 sections which their lights changes between three common colors(Red,Orange and white) continuously depending on the conditions. For example in day-light if the driver turn on the turn-indicator the whole tail-light flashes with the orange LED and if he brakes while turning two sections out of three turn red. In other words the tail-lights are prioritized, maximizing the amount of awareness for other drivers.
Lamborghini Ankonian Concept by designer Slavche Tanevsky. This Ankonian has more aggressive design, a narrow and rather complex-looking body, with a garnishing of GT proportions. Cool, I love it!
BWM has introduced a leaning trike concept vehicle at the company's museum in Munich, the Simple concept. The simple concept is a a three-wheeler that measures just 110 centimeters wide. It weights around 992 pounds, with a drag coefficient of 0.18, and powered by a electric motor. BMW says the simple is capable of hitting 100 km/h in under ten seconds and it tops out at over 200 km/h , yet needs just 2 litres of gas over 100 km. "Simple is the acronym for sustainable and innovative mobility product for low energy consumption, a vehicle concept combining features and advantages of both motorcars and motorcycles. The concept owes its protective passenger compartment to motorcars whereas the streamline shape, the two occupants seated one behind the other and the uniquely driving experience are naturally owed to motorcycles. Whilst researching ideas for futuristic urban mobility combined with the prerequisite of reduced consumption (less than 2l /100 km eqals more than 120mpg) and emission values (50g CO2 /100 km), the BMW Group spawned this concept vehicle featuring the extremely low weight of 450 kg and aerodynamic drag properties (0,18 drag coefficient), which of course also fulfilled all the BMW Group premium brand demands: sheer driving pleasure, innovative vehicle configuration, technology integration and a sense of comfort and spaciousness."
Nissan has unveiled the Land Glider Concept at the upcoming 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. The Land Glider is two-seat electric vechicle, features the range of 160km (100 miles) in a full charge. It can lean into turns like a motorcycle, and sci-fi looking cabin, all full of monitors displays and a steering wheel which looks like twin joysticks. So Cool, I love its sci-fi looking cockpit and steering wheel design.

Ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show starting 14 September, BMW has released the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. This concept powered by a fuel-efficient 3-cylinder turbodiesel plug-in full-hybrid with one electric motor on each axle. It provides a top speed limited electronically to 155mph with acceleration 0-100 km/h(62mph) in 4.8 seconds. Average fuel consumption is 3.76 liters/100 kilometers. Technology: Offering a full-hybrid concept, the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car is powered by a three-cylinder turbodiesel and two electric motors. Overall system output is 262 kW/356 hp, maximum torque 800 Newton-metres/590 lb-ft. All-wheel drive featuring an electric motor on both the front and rear axle. • Anticipated performance: Acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, top speed 250 km/h (155 mph) (electronically limited) , fuel consumption in the EU test cycle 3.76 litres/100 km (equal to 75.1 mph imp), CO2 emissions 99 grams/kilometre. • As a plug-in hybrid, BMW Vision EfficientDynamics is able to cover the entire fuel consumption drive cycle under electric power alone. Taking the sources of energy used for generating the electric power consumed into account (EU electricity mix), this reduces the CO2 emission rating to just 50 grams per kilometre. • Electric power is generated without the slightest increase in fuel consumption through a particularly efficient concept of Brake Energy Regeneration. Energy is stored in 98 lithium polymer cells. The car is able to cover a distance of approximately 50 km/31 miles in the electric mode alone. • Aerodynamics developed with know-how from Formula 1. CX drag coefficient optimised to just 0.22. Forward-looking energy management uses the maximum potential available in each case to minimise fuel consumption.
To celebrate the MINI's 50th birthday since on 26 August 1959. BMW today has unveiled their MINI Coupe Concept. Powered by a 1.6-litre twin-scroll turbocharged engine. Maximum output is 155 kW/211 hp, peak torque 260 Newton-metres/192 lb-ft increasing through the Overboost function for a short while to an even more substantial 280 Newton-metres/206 lb-ft. Unlike the original coupe of the Sixties that simply had a fastback replacement for the standard square-back roof, the new MINI Coup¨¦ Concept completely replaces everything from the beltline up.
The BMW S.X concept by designer Iulian Bumbu, a graduate of the Transportation Design Course at the Scuola Politecnica di Design (SPD) in Milan.
