Maybe the guy should go to an eye doctor first as he seems to be a danger on the road, he obviously does not see the most obvious and fails to avoid. But then, maybe its normal, he is a bicyclist and they think they own the road and rules are not for them and that they certainly NEVER have to stop.

@Andre: Looks like the point went right over your head. Maybe you should see a neurologist if the point of the video is so difficult for you to grasp. He's crashing on purpose to make a point - he's deliberately not moving out of the way and staying strictly in the bike lane because otherwise he'd be "breaking the law" (even though bicyclists are considered vehicles, at least in my state, so I'm baffled that he'd be ticketed for riding with traffic), even though the bicycle lanes have unavoidable hazards. He's showing the outcomes of what would happen if bicyclists weren't allowed to ever leave the bicycle lane - hitting those obstacles.

I agree that people responsible for obstructions in the bike lane should be ticketed or penalized BUT bikers need to take responsibility too. Too many times I have seen cyclists run red lights, stop signs, and not obey the laws of traffic as they should. If cyclists want to be on the road and be so careless as to not obey traffic laws, then cyclists should have to ensure their bikes just as automobiles need to be ensured to be on the road.

Just like a car a bicycle needs to pull out and pass parked vans, how does he think deliveries would happen in a city ?

It is always a pleasure to see different teams to fight, accuse the rest of the teams and yell to the clouds and the universe for their daily miserable level of commuting in the city system. Car drivers you break the rules. Mass transit users, you brake the rules. Pedestrians you break the rules. Cyclists you break the rules. Batman, spiderman and Harry Potter you too break the rules. Yell at your own self and correct YOUR mistakes. Then we can yell to the universe (and the mayor of course):) By the way, Tom cruise in Top Gun broke the rules too :)
