Cool. Thanks but no thanks. The only place i'll sleep in Mexico, is in a fortress with heavily armed security personnel.

I'm sure the person who gave the first comment spend all day watching teenmom at mtv and that kid of stupid things at tv to feel good giving that stupid opinion. :)

Mariann: I fully agree with Sean. I've been to Mexico and that country is a crime ridden hell hole. There are very few areas where you can feel even remotely safe. The main reason to why so many Mexicans are crossing the border into USA, is not because of work. It is because of fear of getting robbed, murdered and raped. If anyone here is stupid, it's gotta be you. Or perhaps ignorant, naive and blue eyed is the right words. I hope you enjoy living in your bubble.

Mexico its a big country and of course there's a lot of crime, but not everywhere, there are many safe and nice places, unfortunately Tepoztlan (where this hotel is) its a dangerous place.. Haha. But anyway, who gives a shit, I'll be there soon!

I´m Mexican, and I have to say that I’m sorry about the situation of my country, Mexico is involved in a big problem of poverty and ignorance that feeds the organized crime everyday. Thousands and thousands of weapons coming from USA directly to the narco make them powerful than local police. If it is not enough corrupted politicians guide our country but the same poor ignorant people still voting for them. I’m very sad about my country we need an intellectual revolution before it´s too late. Despite of that Mexico have great places to visit, and I think that cool designs like the “tubohotel” are great ideas. Tepoztlan I a great place to visit, I used to live near that small town, Fucking narco and fucking government, sometimes I think that you are right about the bad concept that you have about Mexico.

Wow! All this out of a few pictures of a hotel. I am an American and I live in Tepoztlan. Anyone who has visited here wouldn't make such uneducated comments. Tepoz is one of best places to live, very safe, very charming, full of tradition, festivals, warm people. Not everything in Mexico is what you see in the news media. You shouldn't take everything that is written "hook, line and sinker." Get out and travel a bit before you judge (or post on blogs) . . .

To monolith, You could say the same is needed here in the US, considering the way we treat education and choose to ignore science and instead listen to blowhard politicians. Just saying.

I live in Cuernavaca, near Tepoztlan, and agree with tepozfred, tepoztlan is an amazing beautiful place with warm and nice people, Mexicos reality is not the same as usa reality, we do have a problem , a growing problem, and it has a lot to do with usa selling weapons and buying drugs...but i can say that i live, love and laugh in this country, i can take beautiful walks with my girlfriend in the tepoz mountains, and i feel safer than in a lot of american cities. But sadly i have to keep an anatolian shepherd in my property as a guard dog...

Sep21 Thank you for this post! We are pilnnang a trip to Mexico and always strive to stay green. I have no problem ever with sacrificing a smaller room if it is more efficient with energy.
