| i-LIMB, the world's first commercial available bionic hand, has bagged the 2008 Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert award. (See the pic, it looks like a real and full function hand). The i-LIMB a prosthetic device with five individually powered digits. Each finger can function independently without depending upon others. The i-LIMB designed and produced by Scottish company Touch Bionics. The technology has been fitted to more than 200 people, including US soldiers who lost limbs during the war in Iraq. [ Link ] |
