Designer Erik De Nijs has presented a set of suitcases at the Dutch Design Week, which can be combined to form a sofa when you need to have a rest. Called Suited Cases, including four pieces of luggage.

Ever been to an airport? The first thing you have to do is check in your luggage, and aside from the pink backpack none of that looks small enough to carry-on (which you can only have one carry-on bag anyway).

Also most airlines charge an extra $25 surcharge for checking in non-rectangular luggage as it is harder to stack.

Not to mention the fact that most airports are filled with row after row of free seating.

It's sad to see fun ideas like that be reduced to their most practical application.  I don't want to live in a world where everything imagined must serve as some utility.  Impractical but wonderful.

P.S. I have been to an airport.  They are boring.  These are not.

I really like it! Plenty times I was traveling I had to wait in the airport for hours between 2 flights from different companies or because of a flight overbook.
I was not alert about an additional charge regarding non-rectangular luggage. As I have seemed there are two restrictions: maximum weight and maximum linear inches (length + width + height). In my opinion, this keeps us guessing about the shape, but does not clarify the point. Anyway, the shape problem could be solved in many creative ways as shoehorning the “additional” parts inside the rectangular format.
The restriction I see is that you need so many bags and for that you have to be traveling with at least one more person, with who you are used to travel (a couple i.e.).

I think they are adorable and fun.  Even if you can't use them at the airport you could use them at home between travels and at your destination.  My only question is; where is dude's butt?  He has no butt inside those jeans!  hee hee  ( :
