A company called StringBike, has developed new drivetrain technology for bicycles that "placement of the chain and gears on one side of the frame on a traditional bike causes a subtle, although not unnoticeable, asymmetrical pedaling experience." "It allows for continuous pushing of the rear wheel on both sides of the bike (whereas on a normal bike, usually only one leg is doing the pushing at a time as it goes around in a circle). " It’s essentially like having two chains on each side, both connected to the rear hub — only it’s high-strength cord, not chain. Watch the String Bike in action.
