Whats so amazing ? The back of someones head in the ocean? Maybe because I live in Miami, I do not see anything "amazing" about this picture. I personally would like to see the person's face.

lol, miamifrost. it is just a picture but its humans that give it value, emotion and meaning. just like a Picasso is really just paint on newsprint. try not looking at the picture as a picture but a window of a story. and expand it to give it motion. project your imagination to turn it into a movie rather than a still solid picture. (imagine the waves moving, the sun rays hitting your back and hair, the wind blowing on your bare skin and breast on a super hot day as it absorbs the heat off your body, listen to the sound of the waves crashing, feel the sand in between your toes...relaxing isnt it) notice she is so distant but yet so close to the island. its seems like she is in her zone watching life from the outer edges. have you ever sat at a restaurant and just people watch for time? OR she was probably going for a dip and some how the currents pulled her so fast she ended up so far from the coast. how would you feel if that happened? maybe its a discovery. she found this remote island in the vast of nothingness. the possibilities are endless. the face couldn't be important, instead try replacing her with your girlfriend. and come up with a personal plot that you can relate parallel with the picture. a honey moon? a plane crash accident that left you two on a remote island? what would you two do in those scenarios? it shouldn't be so hard if your from Miami after all. =) peace

I agree with Ted. Photography is a whole new way of seeing things, you have to look past the image and find the story, for example why is she looking into the distance? Simple things add mystery to a photo, and another one, why did the photographer feel it was worth taking a picture of, if it's just '' The back of someones head in the ocean?''. Photographers see things in a different way than other people.

Beautiful! Great photo, those colors look desaturated and the former conveys a lot. I did something similar a few years ago, but anything close to this shot. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tr1p1/2878471031/ www.rafaquesada.com
