"Renault is the first European motor manufacturer to include this feature in its catalogue. The swivel seat can be specified like any other option and is fitted directly at the Flins factory, in France, as the car comes off the assembly line, so there is no change to the delivery lead time for the customer," Renault said in a statement.

Renault itself has used swivel seats before. In the Renault Espace, the first proper MPV, Multi Purpose Vehicle, had swivel seats front and back. They could even be swiveled 360 degrees. The point was to make the car usable as a meeting room or dining room.

My old Chevelle had these.

Not a big deal, Chevy offered these a long time ago. We had a Laguna over 30 years ago with swivel seats.
