That is so wrong, sitting on a park bench is not a privilege you should pay for, at least beyond the taxes you payed to create the park and the bench in the first place. plus if you really wanted to sit on it, just go grab some plywood, plop it down on the spikes and BAM work around.

I love it, it does say "Private Park Bench" not public, as for your "taxes" paying to create the park, seems like the park most likely was there before you started paying taxes. Obviologist, you don't need to pay for riding the train, your taxes paid for that to, you can just jump over the barriers and turnstyles and BAM, work around.

One of the worst ideas ever seen. The designer should sit on a chair with the same design and should pay 0.50 euros every 3 minutes in order to use the chair to design.

@ Adam Thinks like parks are paid for by the government usually with money they have borrowed from the world bank so by the time you are paying taxes you are paying for the park. The park also need constant maintenance usually by park wardens paid for by ? YOUR TAXES ! Private companies operate train services so you pay THEM, but what that has to do with paying to sit on Park bench is any-ones guess. This is one of the worst design concepts I have ever seen, the lawsuits would ruin any local government, especially when you could just charge for entry into the park. D'oh!

I am relieved, that I am not the only one shocked by this design. Also you just can sit on your newspaper on the lawn. Privatization is always a bad idea and will give rich people more and takes it away from people who are needing this. If you do not agree look into the privatization of great britains trains..

I can only reason that this is perhaps an intentional artistic stunt/statement purely to provoke reaction... which it has done in the comments above. If that is the case.. it is very successful. If not... this is a very cruel, inhumane design.

Yeah, my guess is that it's just an art piece. That's too ridiculous to be real.
