A great deal of talent. Too bad he must be about 14 seeing it's all about sex. And sex involving the woman 'taking' what he's got to give. Yawn.

All about sex? I think that is just your perception. Nude is not the same as sex...
I like that not all the girls are perfect. But I would like to see some more rough ink sketches, what would give the paintings a bit more draft.

These pen drawings are amazing. The choice of portraits aren't sex, it's "hipster"

haha Paul you pervert, not everything is about sex. Incredible talent, but i would take some artistic liberties to show the specific qualities of ballpoint pen drawing

Whats it matter what people draws, all that matters is that their really fucking good, and can draw photo like pictures, thats awesome.

I'd like to see a video of the artist making these because it would be so easy to just take a photo and then put in a virtual illustrator/shader/painter to produce this same effect.

@paul

I would like to see you do better. I love how people who don't have talent like to bitch about subject matter.

@austin: yeah it'd be sick to see the process of these drawings gettin done
@guille: just outta curiosity, what are these qualities that you're talking about? i've started using ballptpens recently and would really appreciate comments

@JKL well for starters the irregular amount of ink in a stroke, blotches and blank spaces, the depth of the stroke, how it reacts to different paper textures and such.I don't know, i realize Juan did an amazing job at hidding such givaways of the ballpoint, and going for such a realistic interpretation, and that's awesome, but I feel like you should leave a lil bit more behind. More of yourself and your tool of choice. but i've got to say i was inaccurate before, I ment some MORE artistic liberties. Great job.

Realism is boring. Draw something else.

Just a note, having seen these works on other sites, they are freaking HUGE. Not saying that to try and diminish the talent involved, but the scale involved allows for very intricate smooth shading, even with the irregular consistancy you come across using ballpoint pens, though a careful artist can learn to manage the ink blobs etc through a variety of means.
