When you¡¯ve been named Product of the Year at a prestigious design conference, chances are you¡¯re pretty damn cool. The LEM Piston Stool by Shin and Tomoko Azumi ($600) fits the bill, winning the award at the International Interior Design Awards in 2000. It¡¯s unique and innovative design features a fully rotating seat, contract-quality build, and a gas cylinder that adjusts the stool¡¯s height from counter height (26.5¡±) to bar height (31¡±) with a flick of a lever. Not to mention that it comes in wood, leather, and all stainless ¡ª for the times when the bar is made of wood ¡ª and as we all know, wood overload is never good.
