Timelapse video of the Perseid Meteor Shower and the galactic core of the Milky Way as seen from Joshua Tree National Park.
These were taken between August 12 and August 15, 2010. Music is Samskeyti by Sigur Ros.

I have a dslr, but I have no idea how to take such awsome photos of the night sky. :o

To Ben: Make us two :) I wonder myself how can i take photos like this from where i live (the only Galaxy i see around is a supermarket named "Galaxy"...). I have many night sky photos but sorry no color in them. I believe that except the skills (which i miss) and knowledge needed for this result (like this perfect video), light pollution plays a critical role... Isolation is a must :)
