How to start a Fire with IkeaStuff
Gear  |  Projects

The artist Helmut Smit makes a fire from an Ikea rope, hanger, wine rack, egg cup, napkins, and floral embellishments.
This project called the FLAMMA (A Basic Need)
"FLAMMA harks back to one of humanity’s basic needs: making fire. I thought it would be interesting to go into IKEA as if I was a primitive human being and make fire using products found there. The project also fits the back-to-basics image of IKEA and the Swedish lifestyle. IKEA does not, however, sell lighters or matches."

Well... I never needed all those different supplies. I just grabbed a handful of those little pencils they have there and rub those together. works!

The idea is not original of course. So i assume the creator of this video found a nice way to advertise ikea without directly advertise ikea. This resulted an advertisement of ikea without someone advertising ikea :) Nice :) You can do the same thing with any wood in the forest and with your boot-shoe lace. By the way my reply for this video of ikea is not an advertisement of ikea (and does not create any fire at all...).
