Motors has teamed up with Segway to develop a series of decidedly uncool-looking Electric Networked Vehicles, EN-V, all based on the Segway's balanced platform with a carbon-fiber shell. They have a range of 25 miles and a top speed of 25 mph, They’ll use GPS, distance-sensing technology and vehicle-to-vehicle communications to ease congestion and reduce the risk of accidents. The EN-Vs are just concepts. The concept designed for Shanghai traffic, and the vehicles will be shown off at Shanghai's World Expo in May.

What do you get if you take a dump and paint it in neon colors?

This.

Ugly yes.  At least someone has some forward thinking on areas with high congestion and unreliable public transportation.

Agree on mass transit being unreliable. "Forward thinking" cannot ever compete with entrepreneurs except in a limited and fragile ecosystem. Move out of the way of people who have to abide by a fixed set of rules yet can make money and see how they do mass transit.
Don't spend a damn red cent of taxpayer dollars.

Given the number of people riding our metro and what it costs in tax money plus rider money we could charge them their annual fee to have their own car and be ahead around 10 million even paying PLPD. Sucks.

This is a great idea. Let make such cars. :) But, please, not for some astronomical price. This car can solve problems on the city streets and make air better and cleaner. Thank you for tninking about our enviroment!
Lovely greetings from Vienna, Austria,
