The perfect example how second hand books are useful in many ways... First: they can be read many many times, Second: they can be used for a giant and super awesome domino, Third: can make people smile looking at the giant domino, forth: they make people running at the second hand book shop because they realize that books are not boring at all Fifth: they save trees as no new trees needs to be cut to print new books. Also if someone gives you an used book as a gift you can give it to someone else after you have finished, isn't cool the idea that the same book is passing in so many hands, is read by different people with different ideas? And if a book is great why keep it for yourself when you can just pass it on? is that the only city where the book domino has been done? Great video, and great blog, thank you very much for sharing!

Wahou! I am so jealous of the person that thought about this amazing commercial idea! Second-hand books are much better than new ones btw: they have a history and when i read a second-hand book, i can't help thinking about the people that read the exact same pages before me, and how they felt, did they have the same reactions as me while reading the story and this kind of stuff. I also love writing a little something on a random page of my books so that when i give them away, i know the next reader will find it. It creates a sort of link through time and space... love it!

SO SO SOOOOO You have no idea how your site has changed the world… Here’s the deal I am stuck in an airport over tired, crabby, hateful, Really not being my best person… Ready to spread my discontent to anyone in my path.. Negativity to all… Causing chain reaction downstream: hate, war, violence…. Started going through your site.. Slowly my mood changed (slowly because I tend to be stubborn not because of your site) I even just gave a guy who was short of cash in the coffee line a dollar… he was grumpy then smiled and he will go to his meeting or whatever in a better mood, so his coworkers will be in a better mood and go home and nurture their spouses and children and give them the positive reinforcement to inspire them to invent a cure for cancer or a plan to create peace in the middle east then the example will spread to the rest of the world. Thus, we will have world health and global peace all due to your cool site. SO Thank you from all the people on earth (OK so I’ll just speak for the people in my immediate vicinity) Trust me, they Thank You. BTW approximately (ballpark, back of the envelope, quick estimate) how many People hours go into this site per month.. I ask because I am working on some Policy/strategy issues and would like to use it as an example/guide to compare to other examples; using various media to balance positive messaging to counter all the negative messaging. I am told fear/negative is more cost effective to motivate behavior, maybe true but the unintended outcomes are really costly…. Stay Cool Cheers Jenn

The coulourful images and the movement of the video following the books it's great. It's a very original video and also very creative and it shows there's been a lot of work to creat it. Those are the kind of adds that are really worth watching!! Thanks for posting videos like that. I'm looking forward for your new posts! :) Regards from Spain :D LET'S_BE_HAPPY Ángel |

I'm so tempted to ninja my way into the uni library and try this out now! :P It's a really interesting concept, maybe you could try castles (card castle style) or even book Jenga next time? Although admittedly I'd pity whichever poor soul the tower of books inevitably fell on!

Amazing. I'd love to experience something like that. Actually the domino effect can be observed when reading - one book leads to another.. I loved the music and last shoot. :)

Congrats! Very creative! You did a great job of synchronizing two columns of books falling at the same time. I especially liked how the people in the store went about their business nonchalantly as the books fell around them. Toward the end I was just thinking that all that was left was for the falling books to spell something, when, there it was. Now all you need is for books to fall from one shelf to another, or to somehow set themselves back up again and form a closed, self-perpetuating system (OK, perhaps not possible with the physics of this planet, but we can dream!) Since we can´t change physics, have you thought of going for a Guinness world record? There has got to be a category for this art. You could also have a little contest to guess how many books were used in the video (I know you didn´t count them--just make up a number!) I hope the video brings you more shoppers. If I were choosing between used bookstores, it would draw me in for sure. Shalom, Natalie

In a world of unknowns & anxiety, a hired staff took the time to create this amazing, friendly video (with the help of many I'm sure)to show us many messages in one video. I hope this spreads across the globe. There's always a hunger for pure & simple (not that it was to create; it is to view) Thankyou whoever did this & all the people who helped you. Very inspirational indeed.
