Hey let's put out an electric concept car with a design so lame, to make sure nobody wants to buy it. Seriously. It would have been a great car in a futuristic 1985 movie. But in 2011? I think we can lose the ugly wheel cover in the back.

I like it. The rear wheel cover looks quite stylish for me. Afterall, most contemporary automotive designs imitate old 70's or 80's designs (look at porsche, jaguar, maserati, etc.)

I agree. That wheel cover in the back looks hideous.

The covers do look rather ugly, but I would gladly sacrifice that much, for efficiency. Guess there would be less air friction with those. And I bet they would've put them over the front wheels as well if they didnt have to turn...

I like the lines of this a lot, but if they were going to use wheel covers (which I think is perfectly fine), they shouldn't have flared the wheelwell! The idea is to smooth the airflow - putting a lip there is kind of stupid.

Lame comments guys... Don't you know WHY they made this concept car? Is need the wheel covers in order to create less drag/air friction to use less fuel. It can drive 340miles on a 10 liter tank.. Think about that for a while. That's like 1/5 of what a moped use. http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/volkswagen-xl1-concept-hybrid-2011-01-26
